Our History
In 1900, Jacob Greenberg opened the first Greenberg’s store in Sioux City, Iowa. Jacob’s mission for Greenberg’s was to provide the best diamonds, the best service, and the best value. Today, Greenberg’s still maintains Jacob’s mission. Greenberg’s is a three-generation family owned business. In 1942, Ray Greenberg, Jacob’s son, took over the business and was later joined by his wife, Ann, in 1953. In 1985, Ray and Ann’s daughters, Elise Greenberg and Amy Greenberg, joined the business along with their husbands. During the 1980’s and 1990’s, Greenberg’s expanded from one store to eight stores. Today, Greenberg’s operates its eight stores in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
